Hi,
I was wondering whether there's a plug in which creates a new forum topic in bbPress and links to it everytime I post a new WordPress post?

This has three plus points:
-Forums are a more organized/structured system than a blog comments system
-In addition to being a comments system, users can also start their own threads
-Topics per post encourages users to join the forums/register at your site

Here's an example of how it's done (WP + PHPBB topics per post plugin)
http://www.alfredodehoces.com/wp2bb/

I hope there's a WP + BBP version of that plugin.

Start by sharing a link to your forum and describing how you would like it to look unless it's completely obvious to anyone viewing exactly what is wrong with the positioning.

Looks like I'm running into the same or similar issue.
Localization works fine on my local system, which is WordPress free.

I've uploaded the same configuration onto a hosted server and this one fails to internationalize. I realize now that the hosting provider offers WordPress as installation option out of the box. I suspect this to be the reason why the internationalizations fails, presumably because of some preliminary setups for WordPress are in place already.

Is there a clean solution to get bbpress internationalized without all the hazzle from WordPress? I intend not to install the WordPress package.

Quoto from simpler integration with wordpress:

Do so by defining WP_BB as true in either config.php or wp-config.php. Also, WordPress will have to be loaded first.

I use WP and BB with german language! If I include wp-blog-header.php in the configuration file (config.php) of bbpress, the following error occurs:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class streamreader in /homepages/.../www/forum/bb-includes/streams.php on line 26

If I uncomment the lines 122 + 123 in bb-settings.php:

//	include_once(BBPATH . BBINC . 'streams.php');
//	include_once(BBPATH . BBINC . 'gettext.php');

No error occurs ... but the forum is in english!

I use WP 2.3.3 and bbpress 0.8.3.1 ... WP is installed in web root and bbpress in the subfolder "forum".

Is there a documented way to fix this ... or a workaround?

If you post your email I'll get in touch about converting the theme, but have you explored your options of using your wordpress headers? I haven't done it, but there's quite a bit of discussion on these forums about it and it should achieve the same effect.

Hi, someone knows if (and how...) is it possible to integrate the wonderful Mandigo theme (http://www.onehertz.com/portfolio/wordpress/mandigo) in bbPress? For my site www.raccontidiviaggi.com (still working in progress...) I use Mandigo theme, I made the integration using the same database, but now I want to have the same theme also for the forum, which (as you can see here: http://raccontidiviaggi.com/forum-dei-viaggiatori) looks different. The problem is that it is a highly customizable theme, and apparently it's not so easy as simply copy/paste the header... Someone can help me?
Thank you

Filippo

hmm seems working .. have wp cats and stuff to the right .. same theme :)

forum root is.. ehh.. root :( cant find where to change that to forums.php

Update: Found at the top in my-templates/topic.php and forum.php .. changed <?php bb_option('uri'); ?> to forums.php and it works fine :) i feel happy

Update2: changed in my-templates/footer.php. Removed almost all code

<?php do_action('bb_foot', ''); ?>
<?php wp_footer(); ?>
<?php
include($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/myname/wp-content/themes/themename/footer.php');
?>
</body>
</html>

So it runs with my WP theme footer :)

Need to slice up my WP header so i can do the same

Im just hacking and testing so if there is something i can do better say it ;)

Looks a bit weird to have two admin/logins at my top right corner :D

Update3: Since i had forums.php i change in config.php
// What are you going to call me?
$bb->name = 'Forum index';
Looks better :)

Keep up the good work developers!

Where do i put them? here? if so..

i think bbp should have 2 options at install, standalone or integrate with WP .. and since so many ppl want this under WP it should be default :)

So i added
require_once($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/kent/wp-blog-header.php');
in my config and it seems working fine. Can i now use functions as is_user_logged_in() and wp_list_categories() in my bbp templates ?

Can either sides registration/login be totally skipped? ex. remove bbp´s registration?

I want to have one universal sidebar in my website for both WP and BB, but I can't because I need a few BB Functions for it, particularly
login_forms()
. Is there a way to use
login_forms()
in WP?

I think if you define
USER_BBDB_NAME
and similar (prefixing
USER_
before all the DB constants) you can get bb to get the user info from a different database.

I don't know if they use another install of bb here. They could just have made an extra forum, used a plugin to remove it from the normal topic and forum listing, and applied some special stuff (like the ratings plugin) just for that forum. And so could you. Don't know if that approach is any better.

Hi,

I am wanting to run two copies of bbpress one for the forums and for a modules directory like this site has. I was wondering if any one could share with me what all would be involved in sharing the registration system? And where I should begin to look?
