I want to hide page links in my main header navigation from non registered members, then have them show up after the user has logged in.

I'm currently using custom menu manager and wp-members for plugins. The custom menu manager allows me to set which page links show up in the assigned navigation menu (ie: only "about" and "register" are shown on home page the other page links are hidden), but it doesn't recognize whether the user is logged in or not and the hidden page links are not shown after you've logged in still. With wp-members plugin I have the "members" and "project" pages set to block access unless logged in, but this only effects the page access, the nav link for those pages were still showing up in the main navigation until I used the menu manager plugin which hid them totally not conditionally based on log in status which is what I want.

Is there a php block of code to use or plugin you guys recommend that handles nav link access/visibilty based on log in status? I'm at total loss. Please help me. Visit my site mks76.com/wp/

Something like this seems to be rather common problem with cheap/big hosting providers and their shared accounts. People are installing all sorts of unpatched/insecure scripts and it may take just one of those for all hosted on the server neighborhood to become "hackable".
I've had that experience in the past and found that providers offering DDoS protected hosting are a lot more security cautious than regular ones.
I happen to come across DDoSwiz.com and am staying there, but there are of course others. Pricy solutions though..

Hello all!

I've been thinking about SimplePress integration with your WordPress installation. It worked fine with me a few months ago.Give it a shot.May be it needs some customization on its template.Just an opinion.

After all, bbPress and buddyPress are all WordPress family product.

Pagal, you're right: it's not what we call integration. But other people have put their bbPress in an iframe to get it on their site. Your comment does not help answer the initial question at all. TangoTooL is looking for a way to change the text in the email confirmation message. Your comment is off topic.

Don't listen to pagal.

You have to edit the bb-includes/function.bb-users.php line 369. Substitute bb_get_uri(null, null, BB_URI_CONTEXT_TEXT) with your site address.

Be careful cause it's a core file. Unfortunately that function doesn't expose a filter otherwise we could have done the dirty work through a plugin.

Why are you knocking my site? I made my site do what I wanted it to, did the theme and all. I ask one question for support and you represent yourself as THE community. My name has member under it just like you.

Anyway, does anyone else have any other options? The setting in admin/general has to stay the same of course and thats what it is reading when sending email. Where is the core file that I have to edit in order to change this.

Its not integrated at all...
you've just used

I'm sorry but we don't call it seamless or deep integration.

Well, According to my little bit experience in bbPress World, its really not a good method to use just iframe to make forums seamless.

You'll actually need to make your forums seamless / deep integrated with wordpress by following these Instructions. I hope it will work. Thanks

You can modify the registration email and add the proper link there.

You could also do it with Mod Rewrite and .htaccess. But since you are not using permalinks on your site, maybe you don't have access to mod_rewrite with .htaccess.

Hello, I have integrated bbPress in an iframe and looks perfect to be honest. ;)
My only problem is being that The theme doesnt look good out of the frame but when someone registers for an account it will send them to the actual forum location.

I was wondering if there was some way that instead of the email telling them the actual installation path it would direct them to the page on my WP I have the frame at or not even have that at all.

I'm open for any solution. Thank you.

I was in a hurry last night and went with an iFrame solution hosted inside the bbPress folder and placed it inside my wordpress theme, that worked pretty well. When I redesign the site I'll be sure to use this function, it looks awesome!

if you are using WP 3.0, then it has a function to call for login form. use that and if you are not running WP 3.0 then to use such a thing you need to have deep integrated setup which is not recommended and in case you already are, you can use that.

Another option will be to build a normal login form and make it to send data to the bbPress, search for it, there was a thread about it recently.

and if you just want to check if user is logged in, then WP has a function is_user_logged_in()

I realize this is old but what if I want to have this same function on my wordpress homepage?

Basically, how do I get the log logged-in.php / login-form.php functions though wordpress to match BBpress?

iframes is bad for your seo and if visitors come from searchengines it wil only show the iframe page and not the complete website
