How are you including a sidebar in your theme, and what format do you want the list of forums in? Just a list of forum names, parents only, hierarchical, with post counts, etc? How much space do you have?

Hi, I'm trying to list my forums in the sidebar of my theme. I cut and pasted form the front-page but it disappears. I know this is a pretty basic thing but I'd really appreciate a point in the right direction.
Thanks!

I have read all comments to that plugin again and find a fix for this problem. It works fine now.

But I will test _ck_'s plugin anyway.

Thanks for the help

Private Forums has issues. I am uncertain if he is maintaining it anymore. Try my Hidden Forums instead.

Hello,

I'm testing bbpress since 2 months and today I recognized the problem, that the forum list on frontpage differs from logged in view to logged out view.
I have only one forum for moderators, all other forums are open to all, but on the list in logged out view are 3 forums and in logged in view there are all 5 (6) forums.

If I change the order of the forums, then the list on front page behaves strange and shows less forums than before.

I have 2 screenshots:
http://forum.max-fun.de/temp/forum1.jpg - logged in

I copy pasted the code it had in threads -
<td class="num">"><?php topic_title(); ?> by <?php topic_last_poster(); ?></td>

I figured it would do teh same for the front page, but apparently not.

Precisely. I want to have a preview of what's inside the forum, essentially, so that people can click on links from outside them. Kind of like what PunBB has by default. But right now, they way I set it up, it seems to copy the first one for all the forums... I don't know how I'm supposed to set it up.

Can you describe what you are looking for exactly, I am having a hard time envisioning it. So, for example, under your "Community" forum, in addition to the description of that forum, you want to say something like "Latest post: $whatever by $whoever at $time"? For all the different forums?

I want to be able to add the latest post made in a forum section on the front page (and everywhere it lists forums).

If I try to do that, it will just keep repeating the value for the first throughout the list.

It's on this site, if it makes a difference

hello,

I'm working on a two column template.

in the front-page.php it's possible to have the forum list in a table.

I'd like to have this list also in other pages, that is, for instance, in the forum.php or in the topic.php.

if I try to run this list in other pages than front-page.php I obtain this error:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [my template path]\forum.php on line 23

(the line number is not relevant because I modified the code).

it seem that the variable $Forums in this foreach is not loaded with the needed data.

foreach ( $forums as $forum ) { ...

I've tried to find out where it is that is loaded, so that I can load it also in forum.php etc., but I was not able to find out.

someone can tell me where it is that is loaded, and other suggestion on how to have the list of forums in all pages?

thanks.
