			<description><![CDATA[<p>This seems simple, but I can't for the life of me find it documented (I'm probably just missing it). Any help from the community would be much appreciated.</p>
<p>How do I show a forum using php, without using do_shortcode(); ?</p>
<p>Also, how can I start a new loop to fetch a specific forum's contents? I think it's with BB_Query, but I can't figure out the syntax.</p>
<p>Thanks in advance,</p>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Hey everyone, we had to hire someone to fix this problem for us. Apparently it had something to do with the "roles" that were set in our Vbulletin forum previously. They weren't carried over correctly or something to that effect. If you're interested in using this person, he charges $100/hour, but got our entire forum up and running properly in one hour. Let me know if you want his contact info and I'll post it here ( I need to get it from my business partner.)</p>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>We are also experiencing this same problem on our site. If we set a forum to "Hidden" and then make it "Public" later, none of the associated topics appear inside the forum. We're using the bbPress 2.0 plugin with BuddyPress 1.5.2, but are using the bbPress standalone forums rather than group forums.</p>
<p>I'm going to investigate this over the next week or so and will post back if I find anything.

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I am experiencing exactly the same problem. I've set up wordpress (3.3.2 de) one or two weeks ago, bbpress last sunday. But I've nothing migrated.</p>
<p>In the role of a webmaster I can view and edit everything in the forum. During the first tests I changed the visibility to private and back. As a contributor I can only post a new entry. But I can't even view my own posts. This was on the first day. I deactivated bbpress.</p>
<p>Today I reactivated bbpress. Forums and posts seemed to have gone. I set up a new forum and moved the old posts (topics) to it. With/without allowing anonymus posting everything worked fine for the contributor's role. </p>
<p>But after setting the visibility to "private" (later to "hidden") and than back to "public" the same error occurs: contributors can see the forum from the outside but none of the topics/posts.</p>
<p><a href="http://zukunft-stadtbahn.de/forums/forum/redaktionsbesprechung/" rel="nofollow">http://zukunft-stadtbahn.de/forums/forum/redaktionsbesprechung/</a><br />
Anonymous posting is not allowed, visibility is public</p>
<p>We need to have an internal forum for the contributors to discuss our articles before publishing them.</p>
<p>Who can help? Thanks in advance<br />

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, we're using bbpress for our forum and only registered users have access to it. It's located on our public blog (Serenity child theme) at <a href="http://www.noonesthebitch.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.noonesthebitch.com</a>. </p>
<p>Unfortunately, it seems that the forums are showing up, but when a user clicks on the Topic of any forum, it says no topics are found. As an admin, the topics are visible to me. </p>
<p>Also, if we go in and add a topic, all the topics are then visible to users, but eventually disappear again. It's like they're resetting or something. </p>
<p>We're using Wishlist Member as well and I've made sure that none of the content is hidden. </p>
<p>Any ideas? </p>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I solved this problem by modifying de bbpress-login widget.My users can upload their fotos in the front-end by clicking on their avatar-photo, that is displayed in the sidebar.<br />
The info is from here: <a href="http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-user-photo-front-end-upload" rel="nofollow">http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-user-photo-front-end-upload</a><br />
I am aware this it is not the most elegant way, but this is how I fixed it:</p>
<p>1) I installed the WP-prettyPhoto plugin (maybe this is not necesary, but I think I need it ) </p>
<p>2) activate the bbpress-login widget by putting it in the sidebar (in the WP admin section)</p>
<p>3) I addded this script to my sidebar.php: (in my case in wp-content/themes/inove/)<br />
<code><br />
&#60;script type="text/javascript"&#62;<br />
function user_avatar_refresh_image(img){<br />
jQuery('#user-avatar-display-image').html(img);<br />
}<br />
&#60;/script&#62;<br />
&#60;script type='text/javascript'&#62;<br />
var swrAjax = {<br />
ajaxurl: "http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php"<br />
};<br />
&#60;/script&#62;<br />
</code></p>
<p>4) add jquery to the head section:<br />
<code><br />
&#60;script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js?ver=1.3.2"&#62;&#60;/script&#62;<br />
</code><br />
5) I added these lines to wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-includes/bbp-core-widgets.php, just<br />
after "&#60;?php else : ?&#62;" (line 132):<br />
(this will show the avatar when the user is logged in)<br />
<code><br />
&#60;div id="user-avatar-display" &#62;<br />
			&#60;p id="user-avatar-display-image"&#62;&#60;?php echo get_avatar( bbp_get_current_user_id(), '100' ); ?&#62;&#60;/p&#62;<br />
			&#60;/div&#62;</p>
<p>			&#60;?php<br />
echo '<a href="'.admin_url('admin-ajax.php').'?action=user_avatar_add_photo&#38;step=1&#38;uid='.bbp_get_current_user_id().'?iframe=true&#38;width=750&#38;height=450" rel="prettyPhoto[iframes]">Upload avatar</a><br />';<br />
</code> </p>
<p>You have to configure the css for a nice layout.

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Thanks for the comments, I'd like my members to be able to upload an avatar via the profile edit option in my own BBPress forum. I don't want them to see a WordPress profile, I'd like a simple upload section for the BBPress profile edit.</p>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I just tell you to look at that menu on Notepad++. you should choose Unix format, then save the file and upload it again on the server. this should fix your problem in my opinion</p>
<p>EOL is end of line. Different OS uses different codes for EOL, we have Windows format, Mac format and Unix format. often is possible that is you save the text file with windows format it will look nice under windows os but may appear as a single long line for linux.</p>
<p>notepad++ can help with that and correct your problem. you introduced the problem as soon as you edited the file and saved it with windows EOL

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Thanks again, rvencu :) </p>
<p>I do have a Linux host... a CentOS based VPS (managed). Beyond that, I'm afraid that your suggestion is Greek to me. I don't really know anything about editing the EOL Conversion (or what it is). </p>
<p>However, I can safely say that I've experienced my fair share of php errors on this server, and previous ones have not been listed as "line 1". Also, aside from this comment form showing up, my whole install of wordpress and buddypress/bbPress works just fine, so I'm not sure I understand why changing this line would be a particular problem anyway... maybe it's just a syntax error? </p>
<p>But are you saying that you don't see any obvious problem with the code I pasted above?</p>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Just so we're clear, this is what I'm doing in the page.php code. I change this: </p>
<p><code>&#60;?php</p>
<p>suffusion_before_end_post();</p>
<p>comments_template();</p>
<p>?&#62;</code></p>
<p>to this:</p>
<p><code>&#60;?php</p>
<p>suffusion_before_end_post();</p>
<p>if (!stristr($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'],'/lm-forums/')) { comments_template(); }</p>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>actually you need to replace exactly the whole string (including semicolon) with the second one (no semicolon at the end)</p>
<p>also make sure that you do not mix " with ' anywhere</p>
<p>it is not that complicated to fix it. if you can't just paste the code here including the surrounding lines so I can see it.

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Hmm... No, when I make this change, I get an "unexpected T_STRING" error. Maybe there's a missing semi-colon or something? I'm not good enough with PHP to be sure.

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Thanks, rvencu! I'm using the Suffusion theme and have been having the same problem. I'll try your fix and see if it does the trick for me.</p>
