I've just started an RSS feed. Got it to work perfectly with just 1 item. However, once I tried to add another item to the feed, I got the XML Parsing error. I get: XML Parsing Error: junk after document element
Location: http://www.mychurchcast.org/viennapodcast.rss
Line Number 21, Column 1:

I've gone to the RSS Best Practices site and others and it seems I'm doing everything correctly, but it still won't validate. Any help would be appreciative. Thanks!

You've floated the hot tags div (#front-page #hottags), but the hot tags div is not that tall so it doesn't "reach down" to where the Forums table is. Thus, the Forums h2 and the Forums table appear flush with the left border (instead of being pushed to the right by a hottags div, as is the first h2 and table).

You could wrap the two tables (and their h2s) in the main area inside a parent div to prevent this.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I want the log-in form to be up in the header area where it was originally. I didn't think I changed anything that would cause it to fall half way down the page in the discussions/forum area. Yes, that is messed up in both places.

But I still have the original problem that I posted about. Looks fine in I.E. (other than the new log-in box problem), but in FireFox the "Forums" area is scooched way over to the left and the white area (background) cuts off way before it's supposed to.

Don't feel bad if you can't figure it out; I can't either! At least I don't feel quite so bad about it now.

Can anyone else give it a shot?

Thanks!

I always do. :)

However, I could see that there were no errors that should be causing this, so left those things until later. But since you won't help me until it "validates" - it now does.

And the original problems are still there, plus now the log-in info is halfway down the page and behind the forum summary area.

http://www.undercoverlawyer.com/forum/

Can someone now please look and see what the real problem is? I'm sure it's my fault. But I've just been looking at it too long to find it.

Always, always always validate first when you're troubleshooting layout issues:

HTML
http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.undercoverlawyer.com%2Fforum%2F

CSS
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.undercoverlawyer.com%2Fforum%2F&profile=css21&usermedium=all&warning=1&lang=en

Fix issues that are described there. Some, like missing alt tags, are not going to have an impact on layout. I have found layout problems are almost always due to a div being closed to early or not at all.

OK, so this is a clean install of .9 bbpress. Here is the location of the forum:

http://gsupoetry.com/forum/

Only the /forum/ part of the website is visible because I have put the rest in maintenance mode. The admin section of the forum displays fine for me and I have no problems at all. Also, I loaded the forum page in Safari and Internet Explorer, where they looked fine. However, when I clicked on the single topic that you see, it took me to what looks exactly like http://gsupoetry.com .

I have no idea what the problem is...

I do some more testing:
if i use the "bb_is_user_logged_in() )" Function on the entry site it returns false every time. but if I go to the register.php wich uses the same function for displaying the content it shows: "You’re already logged in, why do you need to register?"

If I now go back to the front page by clicking a link on the register page, bbPress recognize that I'am logged in. Due this process I never used the "Log in" Button of the Forum. I was justed logged in by my WP Site.

Another test:
If I login thru my bbPress site all works fine. But if i go back to my WP Site and return to the Forum I have to log in again...

thanks _ck_
But the problem is that if i logged in into my WP Site and go to the Forums my login form shows up instead of the welcome message.

But if i go directly to a forum typing "forum.php?id=2" i see the forum, can make new topics and instead of the login form i see the welcome message.

So it seems like the cookies are set and working correct with bbpress but the view has any problems... same problem in the standard Theme. Private Forums Plugin is not the problem. I try to edit the config files like in the other threads but that doesn't help and I installed all integration Plugins for bb and wp.

You need to follow the instruction to syncronize the cookie paths in bbpress and wordpress.

Essentially both have to be set to your site's webroot (ie. /)

Look under the cookie section here
http://bbpress.org/documentation/integration-with-wordpress/

or look through the integration tag here like so:
http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/cookie-question-wp-bb-and-beyond

WP RSS feeds do not have that problem.

All I get is:

XML Parsing Error: xml declaration not at start of external entity
Location: http://www.ajakirigolf.ee/foorum/rss.php
Line Number 2, Column 1:
<?xml version="1.0"?><!-- generator="bbPress" -->
^

I can not parse the forums RSS feed to other pages. :(

I'm getting the error mentioned above. I've searched all the forums and can't find a fix. I don't have the above or any plugin loaded. Moreover it gives me the same error on the original theme and my modified theme.

I also went and made sure that all the files that get included by rss.php don't have any white space after "?>". Hitting a brick wall. Anybody have any ideas?

Looks like there is just a little too much white space at the end of the plugin file.

Open the plugin PHP file and go to the bottom and delete all the blank lines after the final closing PHP tag that looks like this... "?>"

If anyone is having problems with RSS feeds in firefox and other browsers, like e.g. like below:

XML Parsing Error: xml declaration not at start of external entity
Location: http://mysite/rss.php?profile=1

It might have to do with the plugin MoveIT. Disable it and your back in business. See this post for more info:

My firefox (and netscape) doesn't show the "Edit forum order"-button i the admin-panel for Forums. It's there in IE6 and works fine ... Any hints on this?

Firebug reports the following errors:
1. jQuery is not defined

This problem has to do with IE7 needing a "min-height" value in the stylesheet to expand the box whose border is the bottom line. Adding this to the css for the ".infobox"-rule will fix the problem:

	height:auto!important;
height:1px;
min-height:1px;

The adding of "height:auto!important;" and "height:1px;t" will fix the same problem i IE6.
