It isn't about it being a regular basis, it's about it being possible.

In my testing and installing of bbPress, I usually bounce back and forth between a KeyMaster, an Admin, and a Member test account, and sometimes I am logged in and make a post under the wrong one. :)

It's more for convenience and possibility sake than it is for daily use or practicality.

Forums with many users would just have a million entries in the drop down. Heck I dunno man I just thought of this idea! :)

I have a bit of code that does an ajax-ish drop down of all members and adding something up near the topic meta area is really easy but I still don't understand why you'd want to change the author of a topic on a regular basis?

Nothing with roles, actually something much simpler.

As an administrator, I would like to have a drop-down list on the post-form.php that has a list of all forum members, so that I can assign or change the author of a post.

Within the
<?php if ( is_bb_tag() || is_front() ) : ?>
there would be another drop down list, but rather than forum, would be the list of authors to say started that topic.

I think you want to move (or remove) this piece of code in topic.php of your template file:

<?php topic_tags(); ?>

Removing that removes the tags for a topic. Then, just put it where you want it to get the tags back.

Hey Mods;

(Tried to install plugin, got fatal error, so tried code file edit...)

I just want one post to have reverse order, so I tried:

if ( !$bb_db_override ) :
if ($topicid == '54') {
$posts = get_thread( $topic_id, $page, true );
} else {
$posts = get_thread( $topic_id, $page );
}
$forum = get_forum ( $topic->forum_id );

	$tags = bb_get_topic_tags ( $topic_id );

But it doesn't seem to recognize the topic id - it displays all posts normally? Am I assuming wrongly that the topic_id is the number after "/topic/##" in the thread url?

Can you see anything I'm doing wrong? How do I isolate a single post to be reverse order?

Thanks!

The first line of the first post? Or do you mean the first thread in the first thread listing?

Sure, just do something like this. <?php if( !$is_foist_topic ) { echo ' class="first-topic"'; $is_foist_topic = true; } ?>

The first time it checks it won't be true, so it echoes code to change the class of the HTML. Then it sets it to true, so the next times it will be true and it'll skip that.

You want the code to set the class of the tr I believe, so put it in the HTML for that. Play around.

Did you change the account? Your account needs to have the "Keymaster" role! Keymaster > Administrator. Only the Keymaster can change the theme I think.

Themes have to be put in
/forum/my-templates/theme-name/
, not in bb-templates. So you would put the Crystal files in
/forum/my-templates/crystal/
(make the
my-templates
folder if you don't have one). Then go to the "admin" area, click on "Presentation" then click on the theme you want. :)

I wouldn't recommend changing core files on a regular basis. I do it because I don't know how to create a plugin (yet.) I also keep a list of modifications to the core files. That way, when another version comes out, I can apply my changes to the new core files. Hopefully, in the future, I won't need to do it like that, but for now, it's all I can do.

Good luck.
