I have the integration working. Got wordpress in the root and bbpress in a subfolder called /forum.
When I register on wordpress, the user is displayed as subscriber in WP and as member in bbpress. so all is correct.
But if I register on bbpress, then the user is "member" in bbpress but in WP it gets no role at all.
Second problem is that bbpress doesnt seem to send out any confirmation email although I can see new users in the backoffice.

BOTH plugins are installed and seem to be working fine.

untested but should work in theory

This will just use the stored last posted id # instead of forcing bbpress to lookup all their meta data and profile link in the database.

If your forum uses permalinks, it will just rewrite the url on display.

outchy, this plugin is for a completely different purpose.

You already have the latest posters on the front page, if you want to turn their names into profile links you need to do something like this in your front-page.php

<td class="num"><a href="<? user_profile_link( get_post_author_id( ) ); ?>"><?php topic_last_poster(); ?></a></td>

(untested)

Note because of the way user data is not cached on the front page, this will cause several extra queries per topic listed and probably not a good idea for very busy forums.

You can use a hook to add an input field. Your code would look something like this:

add_action('post_form', 'addmyinputfield');

function addmyinputfield() {
echo '<input type="text" name="mine" id="mine" />';
}

You would need another hook to then get the value when it's been posted. I'm not sure about this one, but I think the hook would be
pre_post
. Again you use it in the same way as above:
add_action('hook_name', 'function_name');
There's a list of hooks here, http://bbpulp.org/wiki/API/actions if that wasn't the one you wanted. Maybe
post_form_pre_post
?

Please note that this simple plugin doesn't automagically pull your WordPress sidebar. It's simply a lightweight convenience function for making bbPress themes. I was surprised this wasn't already included in template-functions.php, but bb_load_template() makes this super easy to add.

ear1grey: I recall seeing that, either in a topic post or in the trac. Thanks for that. I will hope for the best on that one. Right now, doing it manually is a big PITA, but I wonder if the Site Management "Recounts" might help with keeping it all straight after moving things around.

Thanks.
