<description>&#60;p&#62;It will support a host name, but are you trying to use a port or a socket?  I use MySQL servers on different hosts all the time, but they are always on the default port of 3306.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Can you post the &#60;code&#62;BBDB_HOST&#60;/code&#62; line from your config.php?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Also, you didn't post the actual warnings: what were those?
