I got a problem. I'm using a theme that has support for bbPress 2.0, but when I try to upgrade to 2.1 I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /storage/content/55/153755/beta.taketen.eu/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-theme-compat/bbpress-functions.php on line 77

I've tried this with two different themes with bbPress 2.0 support and get the same error. However, if I use a theme that doesn't support bbPress at all, it works.

How do I get this to work?

Will bbpress work ok on Godaddy Web Hosting? Will this forum gnerate too much load for a cheap hosting like this?

1) I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but when I update my profile using the front-end profile editor, it resets the "disable visual editor" and "show admin bar on frontend" thingys so that I always see the visual editor (which i hate) and I don't see the admin bar. So every time, I have to go back to backend and manually change them again!

2) I logged out, after replying to a thread, then immediately logged in on another account. Yellow text appeared above the reply box saying "you are now logged out". Then I immediately posted a reply with apostrophies in, and instead of posting it, it reloaded the page with slashes added. I manually removed the slashes, hit the post button, and this time it worked as normal.

Anyone else got either of these?

Looks like customizing messages is not working. The following are the steps that I tried:
1. Install Buddypress
2. From the BP Forums settings page, choose to install Sitewide Forums; BBPress is installed
3. Installed poedit; open bbpress.pot and saved as bbpress-en_US.po; changed the entry say line num 466 from started the topic... TO started the question...
POEDIt automatically created a .mo file.
Moved both po and mo file to wp-content/languages
changed WP_LANG to en_US in wp-config
Restarted the machine
4. Create a new topic; still the old entry started the topic is diaplyed in activity stream

I've done the same steps for buddpress-en_US and customizing messages works in BP.

Could anyone please help me troubleshoot this.

FYI, I'm using default theme of Buddypress

It looks like bbPress (WP_Query) is trying to do an unindexed query lookup:

I've looking for a solution to show below one of my blog pages a topic discussion from bbpress forum. The problem I have is that this page has the Visual Editor off in order to write PHP inside for my convenience.

So I can't use the shortocodes there and neither the php code as it appears in the plugin templates. Because the code has to make a loop to show all the discussion for this certain topic I think it is not possible to integrate a PHP code for that on my own PHP code...

Any idea about this?

I created the Pages with the slug [Advertiser] and Page Name is also [Advertiser]
and URL is
http://mydomain.com/advertiser

and I created the Forum with the name of [Advertiser] but the Problem is in slug
it is taking [Advertister-2].

Why it is taking Advertiser -2
and the URL is
http://mydomain.com/forums/forum/advertisers-2

I want to create forum with the Slug of [advertiser] instead of -2

I need help to solve this Problem.
will you Guide me How can I do this.

I just made a fresh new forum and want to set different user-roles to see different fora.

Basically I want two fora 'levels': one open and one hidden and three userroles (apart from me as superadmin: mwoahaha!)

1) Visitor: Can read open fora but not post
2) Subscriber: Can read and post to Open Fora
3) Member: Can read, post to both open and hidden fora

What is the best way to achieve this?

I'm running bbpress Version 2.0.2. I am thinking about trying out some of the plugins but I am not able to install any of them..

I have created a folder called "my-plugins" in the root of the bbpress folder.

However, I cant see anywhere to actually install the plugins? The documentation says "Click the plugins tab". However, in WordPress all I can see is "Forums", "Replies" and "Topics" with no "Plugins" tab?

I am logged in as the admin account (the same account that installed the forums).

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction :)

But I have searched a lot for how to get posts in a thread, that is listed, in reverse order. I want the most recent posts in a thread to be displayed first and the oldest, date, will be at the bottom of the page.

In the pane "Right Now in Forums" in my WP dashboard, the number of hidden topics, hidden replies and empty topic tags changes over time (the hidden topics and relies decrease and the empty tags increase) without any interaction on my part. It seems to be correct -- the numbers of topics and replies that are in the trash decrease over time. I'm not emptying the trash and no one else has the ability to empty the trash, so are items in the trash being pruned as a result of a scheduled script or should I be looking for another reason?

I am using the plugin version of bbPress on WordPress, and recently deactivated all of my plugins trying to troubleshoot a theme error. I reactivated them, and when I go to Forums in the dashboard, "All Forums", my forum is still there, but when I click on "View" it says:

Permission Denied
Not Found / No Access

The page you are looking for either does not exist, or you do not have the permissions to access it.

Going to http://mysite.com/forums takes me back to the main page.

Any suggestions? :(

You just can't post anything (you get error HTTP 500 (Internal Server Error)), I don't know what to do...

Because I use two shortcode :

[bbp-topic-index]

And I have breadcrumbs for forum and an other for topic. Maybe make a shortcode like this is it possible ?

[bbp-topic-index breadcrumbs=false]

And are they a way to say number topics to display ?
