You posted, I listened.

Version 2 of bbPress's theme compatibility is now in the 2.1 plugin branch of code for your perusal. This second iteration removes the need to add current_theme_support() to your theme, and totally automates the process.

If your child or parent theme contains the template files that bbPress looks for, bbPress will use them. If not, bbPress will fall back on it's default templates and styling. No more logic necessary.

Please test it. It's new code with a new approach, so I'd like to get some fresh eyes on things right away to avoid a long beta period like 2.0 had.

Cheers!

First of all, thank you for a wonderful plugin! You're doing a great job!

I've been working a lot with version 2.0.2, and I have had a lot of problems. I didn't want to upgrade to 2.1 because it wasn't a stable version. But i eventually did upgrade to 2.1 and let me tell you, it solved a lot of my problems.

Thank you very much and I appreciate what you do!

I'm using bbforums with Buddypress.

What is the chance of getting threaded comments added to group forums?

In addition, it would also be fabulous if Forum topics could also be setup to be organized by category. Or better yet, as in some of the nicer online wiki’s the forum directory being able to be edited by the admin so that items in the forum directory and be placed in grouplets or in any order other than first come last posted.

There is also a minor bug in the Mute – Follow option when the bp – editor plugin is added to forums, which results in the follow-mute button being almost completely obscured at the bottom where new comments are to be started.

Popularization of Solar Traffic Warning Light

With electric parking lot and street lights come quite a few difficult problems. The first being, of course, the large amount of money spent on electricity. Another issue is the problem of dependability. An electric light is in a chain with others will cause lighting problems for many other lights if it goes bad. Solar powered lights are each independent of the others, meaning each will work solely on its own, making these lights much more reliable and cost effective for any situation.
Solar powered lighting options for the outside of a home are varied in style and size and are available in both decorative and useful designs. From small solar lights to mark a path or walk, to larger lights made to illuminate a gazebo to large lights meant for security, the options for the home are endless. These cost effective lights save an immense amount of electricity, and offer the sturdy reliability for years to come.
The question now is - how do they log in? If they visit the page, they are shown a kind of unhelpful message about having to log in, without any information on how to actually do so. It would be good to instead of the error message actually have a login form.

That would be perfect for a BBpress theme.
So clean, sharp, easy to understand.
Yet it is original, in the form that the avatars are round float next to each other in block quotes and such. It breaks the tradtionally "square" internet-look and feels more alive.

They say nothing about either WordPress or BBpress there, but I sure wish someone could make that theme for BBpress. With working and easy to upload avatars! Which is absolutely essential to that design.

There are a few things I really always look at when participating in a forum, and that is "role", "total number of posts" and "registry date" of the ones who answers the topic.

By looking at those few informations I quickly make up my mind as to how much weight I should put on the persons opinions.

If the person has 1256 posts and was registered 09.09.2008, then I often would add more weight to that person's opinions than a person with just 5 posts and registered 04.20.2012...

So, is there a way to add some php code tp for instance
wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-theme-compat/bbpress/loop-single-reply.php
to get:

- User's total number of posts
- User's registry date

I was able to get the user's role by following this:
http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/displaying-user-role-beside-their-replies

Thank you :-)

The topic title in bbpress rss feeds is “(author) on (title)” which is really bad, because I can’t sort on title anymore. This is sort by author, because the author is the first string in the title.

And it is redundant, because there is a author field which I can see in my feed reader.

Maybe you can change this to “(title) – (author)” (or similar) …

I see this on http://de.forums.wordpress.com and I know this is not the latest version running there. So if this is changed in the latest version, just tell me!

Thanks in Advance!

Right now the loop replies is calling the loop as follows:

<?php while ( bbp_replies() ) : bbp_the_reply(); ?>

	<?php bbp_get_template_part( 'bbpress/loop', 'single-reply' ); ?>

<?php endwhile; ?>

This is combining the topic and the replies into the same query to be output by the loop-single-reply.php template file.

Request:
Separate out the calls to get the topic and then the replies after that function. (use 2 sep functions to call topics/replies)

Reason:
It is VERY difficult for me to style the original topic separately from the replies.

*Yes, I know that everything is currently in a table format so styling topics and replies is not really feasible, however I am working on building some custom forum templates without tables. This would make building custom templates a bit easier.

agree?

I know bbPress is all about basic, clean and minimalism code but not adding an unique class or ID to a sticky topic or a closed topic is a huge missing part i think.

(the function works just no way to style it)

Will the bbPress (2.+) version be the same as the bbPress (1.0) version?
Without 25 different must have plugins is just not worth installing it?

Don't get me wrong, i love the option to add plugins that can make bbPress do more advanced functions, but a feature like sticky and closed topics should be styled in the core files not by a plugin.
Not talking about lock icons , stars icons and different forum icons just a light gray or green background would be nice to have out of the box.
