My first post was marked as spam, not sure why. Maybe because I posted links to my forum??

Anyway, I'll remove the links. This is what my post said:

Hey there! I just installed the bbPress plugin on a site I have been assigned to at work. Unfortunately, nothing is showing up at the index for the forum:

But when I link directly to a category, you can view what's under that category:

Hello

I want to run Buddypress with a forum and I as wondering if someone can clearly explain to me the following;

1. What is the difference between the build in buddypress forums and the bbpress plugin?

2. What is the best way to install it so that both plugins sync and work together properly? Is there a set order they should be installed in?

I recently activated Buddypress and now want to convert my existing Forums created using the SimplePress Plugin to the BuddyPress Forums and wanted to know if there was an easy way to do this.

Just got it installed today, once I hit the activate button...bang, white screen of death. Honestly didn't see it coming. This is the first time WSD hit me when activating the plugin.

Didn't find any resources in source, so I posted this thread. Any idea how this happened? I'm not using WP default theme, currently using the following plugins:
- Akismet
- Breadcrumb
- Formidable
- Gravity
- Gravity Forms with Addons
- s2Member
- and WP UI

Any known conflicts?

I'm using a membership plugin that have different roles and levels. Upon installing bbPress, would it overwrite my existing user levels and roles or append to it?

I am using a wordpress with a buddypress, bbpress pluggin, and salutation theme activated. When a user registers and tries to access their personal setting and notification the page cannot be found. http://www.therelieffoundation.com/wordpress/ Anyone having any luck fixing this?

ok I am using WordPress with Buddypress with BBpress alongside.. I am using the Custom Community Theme for my Template and i am trying to figure out how to change my BBpress template because the default one is Ugly and i have found some bbpress templates that i would like to use but i cant figure out how to make this work. Ok I finally figured out how to reverse the order of topic replies but now thats put the first topic post with the description at the end and I need people to know what the topic is about when they enter. So how can I separate it from the replies and keep it on top?

Hi,

For the sake of consistancy, I'd like to use the WP Socializer plugin to display Social Media buttons at the top of my forum Topics.

The plugin author said this:

"Please note that WP Socializer works in all pages or places where there the <?php the_content(); ?> function is called in the theme.

Simply make sure that the theme you use or the page of the custom post has the above function mentioned.

Instead, you can also use WP Socializer's template functions also.
Use <?php echo wp_socializer('template-1'); ?> anywhere in the template which is used by the custom post type."

Since I didn't find reference to <?php the_content(); ?>,I've tried inserting it into the default theme and the single-topic.php file however the buttons fail to load.

I'm presuming this is because bbPress actually isn't recognising the php code reference - would this be the case?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a wordpress site, but I want to add a forum as a subpage. Essentially I want to have the main page and then be able to click on a link and take me to the forum.

I've watched the videos and read the topics, but I still can't figure it out.

I have BuddPress installed and thought that the field manager there would integrate with bbPress but the values do not seem to be carried through.

There are several things I'd like to do. For instance, for the forums, I want to change one particular CSS element of my theme. My WP theme allows me to do this by providing the CSS in a page header variable for the page. But don't know how to do this for bbPress.

I have just installed bbPress and this plugin.

I activated the plugin and in the bbPress widget, I placed bbPress search widget.

When I go to the forums page, the bbPress-specific sidebar doesn't seem to appear - at least I don't see the bbPress search widget. Also, the CMS/normal sidebar doesn't seem to be removed - the sidebar seems exactly like the sidebar for the rest of the site.

Finally, I tried selecting single.php as default forum wrapper. But this doesn't seem to make any difference at all - I still see the *normal* 3-column/2-sidebar page when I visit forums.

Please help!

I installed WordPress and BuddyPress, but found out that a moderator has no control over approving comments in forums. Our site requires that.

Then I found a plugin that allows me to moderate a forum in bbPress, which gives me hope that I could utilize bbPress for the forums, the plugin for the moderation/approval, and BuddyPress for the membership aspect.

Is this a realistic scenario? Or should I be using WordPress alone to give me the membership aspect and use bbPress with the plugin to create the forums?

I really like the way BuddyPress models the social aspect, but the main thing for me is the moderated and approved traditional "forum" aspect.

If anyone can give me some timely advice, it would be much appreciated.

What are the steps to set up bbpress and buddypress on the same site like the testbp.org? is it as simple as activating the bbpress plugin? can I integrate bbpress into the existing buddypress theme? via the steps posted in the sticky under step 3 bullet 2?

I am using the bbPress WP plugin. Where should I place the language files?

The only reference to language files I could find in documentation is for the standalone version. http://bbpress.org/documentation/installation/ and says the files need to be placed in “my-languages”

I tried placing the .po and .mo files in bbp-langauges, languages and my-languages folders within the bbpress plugin directory. None of this worked.

Please help!

Hi there,
I just copied bbpress via FTP un my site then I've done :

After this I received a 404 error.

On my domain I've my WP site not in the root but in a folder so I've :

http://www.mysite.eu
- mysite
- forum

I tried to move the 'forum' folder under 'mysite' then i run the setup but I receiveda blank page .

Could you help me ?

I'm new to bbpress and I did it quite successfully in my first WP site last week. Now, I'm trying to set up a simple site for my wife using TwentyTen and bbpress is the only plugin.

When I go to create a new Forum page and I click on the Templates dropdown, only two choices exist Default and One Column.
