On the very bottom of the page there’s the admin area (if you are an admin).

BBPress has nothing else going for it other than the fact that it’s from the WordPress folks.

    Nah.

    1. Simplicity: Vanilla is top notch, and also has a plugin system.

    http://bbpress.org/plugins/

    2. Comprehensiveness: Invision boards or PHPBB etc.

bbPress hasn’t been created to be a gargantuan monster (such as PhpBB.)

So. Why is it that BBPress is not just a full plugin to WordPress and therefore totally integrated with WordPress? If this is already being discussed (as I hope it is!) then when is this planned?

There’s a nifty sticky on the very top of the page: http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-plugin-updates

    why?

Cause you question is too generic.

Do you need an “unread post” plugin? Get Unread Posts of our beloved _ck_.

Anyone else have a suggestion? One that is useful?

    It’s spam buddy.

    You must edit the files:

    bb-templateskakumeifront-page.php

    bb-templateskakumeiforum.php

if your theme is kakumei, or

    bb-templates*your theme name*front-page.php

    bb-templates*your theme name*forum.php

if you use a custom theme. Move the table “forumlist” above table “latest”. Try to not mess up with the PHP portion of code cause nasty things can happen.

however, if I go into my WordPress administration, there is NO bbpress

bbPress is not a wordpress plugin and so it cannot be administrated from the WordPress admin panel.

JJJ: Thanks. Is there a roadmap for 2.0?

No. As far as I know the 1.1 will be the last standalone version. bbPress will soon automagically turned in a WordPress plugin.

i saw someone else had posted on the forum the ‘No header ‘ problme but no one had answered them.

That’s not true. I have answered this particular question at least 10 times.

bbPress it’s not a WordPress plugin so it cannot be installed from the plugin area. There’s a plugin version but it’s in beta stage and can be downloaded only from the repository.

what is the intended URL mean?

The folder where you have uploaded bbPress. If the foldex is called quax then go to jollysquirrel.com/quax
