my understanding is that the current version doesn’t do anything with bbpress (won’t let you edit those roles anymore) i also hit this problem today (also using URE) i deactivated the plugin but am still seeing the issue nothing changed in the last day since it was working little apprehensive to give “normal” users the ability to erase others :/
nope actually what private means is that you need to be logged in to see it. hidden is what you are looking for.
for anyone else wondering about the URE update released today fixed the issue at least for us.
i think you did what you were supposed to. i remember having to do something similar having graduated from 1.2 to 1.5 buddy press which was the first version to support bbpress integration

@jmperu you need to have your hosting provider up your php memory limit.
seems like they should have that as a default option, just my measly 2 cents
