Thanks for leaving comments guys, but that's not the point of this entry, that was what the survey was for! Going to close it out.

Hi Matt,

Anonymous posting (just like blog commenting with name/email/website) would be great if it came packaged with 1.1
Giving the option to register or not, to interact in the forum, makes sense if it's already part of the platform.

If I had two votes, then WP integration (for the sake of new users).
All else could be a plugin, keeping it light and customizable.

I voted for personal messaging, because it is a useful feature we had with previous software that I sometimes miss.

I have noticed some problems with the WordPress integration: being logged into WordPress seems to interfere with moderator abilities on the forum, and I have to log out and log in to the forum to do any moderating, but then have to log in again to WordPress to access it, after which my moderator abilities on the forum are again hampered (not eliminated, but some of them do not work). I take that to be a bug which I trust you are already addressing, as I am not the only one who noticed it.

I would also appreciate having more formatting abilities and a preview mode, but I'm not much for WYSIWYG and would be content simply to have a bit more HTML capability.

However, I am rather against anonymous posting. It encourages Spam, trolling, and flaming. Years ago Gaming Outpost pushed for real-name identities, and although we did not get 100% compliance on that, it helped a great deal that most people weren't hiding behind false identities. Even now the people who cause the most trouble are those who create false identities, and anonymous posting would just complicate this in my view. If it becomes an available feature, I hope it can be deactivated.

Thanks for all your work.

Most features from the poll are indeed available as plugins... (even private messaging and embed support, I missed that in the comments above) . Makes the list, for me, kinda pointless (options to choose from wise). I Think this way, Integration with WordPress will win by a long shot. Some sort of evil plan in the works here to let us choose between options nobody chooses from(there are plugins for) or Integration with WordPress??? Secretly pushing the last one?? ;-)

I do like the initiative, but the real poll is:

Choose from:
-Integration with WordPress
-Keyboard navigation
-Facebook Connect
-Importers from other systems

Expected more from this............

Also (and I quote): The votes aren’t necessarily determine what we work on first, but it’ll be good information to have.

Looking at the poll again, I think it's already decided you are gonna work on WordPress Intergration. I only hope this doesn't mean that it stops being stand alone...
