bbPress International
With bbPress 0.73 out, bbPress is much better equipped to handle localization to whatever language you speak.
We’d like to encourage such localization by offering a centralized resource for localization files, support and anything else needed by the international community.
Please leave a comment here to let us know what language you speak (and fill in your email!) if you’d like to get involved. (We have some pretty heavy moderation in effect; don’t worry if your comment doesn’t appear right away.)
And apologies ahead of time; I only speak English. Italian used to be a second language of mine, but that was tanti anni fa.
hello i am speakting Danish, I am willing to help you translate bbpres into Danish

Here I am
I manage the WordPress Italy website and we use bbPress for support forum, now we are going to redesign the site i’l put last version at work and obviously I already have the localization files ready for Italian.
I already care for the official italian localization for WP and i will keep the localization for BB too.
Would be nice to have a polyglots SVN as we have for WP, this way I’m sure lot of WP localization team will join the bbPress one too, maybe posting this request on polyglots mailing list would be a good idea.
Sign me for it_IT (italian) mantainer.
Soon we will start to offer a dstro fully localized and will have a specifica domain as we have for WP (bbPress.it is already registered by me)

Hello,
Great job, thank you! I’m building a site using WP and bbPress (just installed and integrated bbPress 0.72 with WP 5 days ago). I actually did a quick localization if Finnish too, but since I’m using WP and bbPress integrated, didn’t come up with anything else but integrating also the .mo-file under wp-includes/languages. Could the localization be done with two separate .mo-files if WP and bbPress are fully integrated? That would be more elegant and accurate solution in my opinion.
I need to keep my site localized in Finnish anyway, so I can share the results of my work with the community, if it’s any help for you. Just let me know what to do.

Hi!
I’m from Turkey, and I’ve started to translate bbPress into Turkish. (tr_TR)
I found a .po translation file from the forum, I think it is not official one, and you will publish/send official translation file for us.
We’ve liked bbPress. And for our (WordPress Türkiye site), we are talking about removing our forum software phpBB and using bbPress instead.

Hi, I have made an 80% translation into Czech. It`s available at
http://radekf.net/clanky/bbpress-translation/
I think that in the post-form.php there is a string beginning with “Allowed markup: …” which is not covered in the .po file. I have got over this by splitting the string in the php file into two poarts which are in the .po file.

Comment by Sewar — December 16, 2006 @ 7:34 am
Hi again.
Well, i made the po to mo files.
I did all the instructions - and it works !
The only problem now is that Hebrew is a right to left language - and the current style is for left to right.
I saw an Added CSS for rtl - but I do not know how to use it, or it is broken (I tried using it instead of the diffult CSS - it doesn’t work. I added it to the current style.css file - and it doesn’t work)
I also posted for help on the forum:
http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/429?replies=1
So some help will be great.
Thanks in advance,
Tal.

I d happily work on the Hungarian version of the BBpress, since I d like to try/use it on a Hungarian site. I did some translation jobs before (Englis-Hungarian), mostly movies and TVshows. Though I am not sure how you do a translation of a software like this… my coding/HTML/CSS knowledge is very limited. If there was a table (on one row the English text - another row to fill with the Hungarian version) I think I d do the translation quite quickly. Please contact me through my mail address if it is possible.
All the best,
Zsolt
