Watch for falling code

May 15, 2006 5:29 pm — Development

We're making some big changes to the bbPress codebase over the next few days, as opposed to the more incremental changes over the past year. bbPress has been working so well we haven't really needed to touch much, but it still needs a good coat of paint before we consider taking it out of alpha, so that's what to watch for.

  1. It seems a little abandoned, but is good to know that the project is still alive and may be brought back to life with some paint (?)

    Waiting for that beta ;)

  2. I’d like to be the first one to say… Yeah! Good job and thanks…

  3. Any chance of a beta coming out this month?

Most importantly, what about converters from other, soon-to-be-obsolete forum software like punbb, phpbb and so on?

  4. Converters can be tricky, I’ll try to port the WP importer framework so people can contribute them. Maybe beta this month.

  5. :-( I can’t download the new versions of BBpress. Well, I can download them but using 7Zip in a PC the tar.gz files do not extract. I get an error. Any way of fixing that? Thanks…

  8. Two questions on your product, when is the complete (non beta version) coming out? Also the current version will not mess up my Wordpress interface right?
